Kevin Holtrop ’10 knew that he wanted to go into the business world after college. He just was not sure where the college experience was going to be.“I knew that I wanted to be at a small school where I could build and form strong relationships that would make an impact in my life,” describes Holtrop. “Trinity has given me this and so much more.” As a junior at Trinity, Kevin is working towards a degree in business with a minor in marketing. It is this very program that persuaded him to come to Trinity after high school. One thing that has impressed Holtrop the most is the strong bond between both faculty and students. “It is exciting and comforting to know that as a student I can go talk with a professor who is more than willing to spend a few minutes with me. All of the professors here at Trinity are excellent examples of what it means to serve God.” Kevin has also made a great impact on Trinity’s campus by serving as a resident assistant for the past two years. This experience has taught him much more about building relationships and a community on Trinity’s campus. “I have found that life on a college campus is all about building relationships and getting involved. I have been able to do this through the Resident Life program here at Trinity,” explained Holtrop. As part of the RA staff at Trinity Kevin has been involved in planning a number of activities on campus including trips to theatre performances in downtown Chicago, setting up on campus events such as hall dances, and hosting weekly Bible studies for students on campus. Along with taking the role of an RA, Holtrop has served on Residence Hall Councils, the Suicide Awareness Group, and TrollNation. “I feel that at Trinity, God has led me to not only learn and understand more about his creation and the world around me, but more importantly about how I fit into His plans for the future. He has shown the purpose of my life in His world, and also given me some amazing experiences along the way.” |
