T. StricklandA college, a community, a crossroads—Trinity provides a place to learn and an environment to grow socially and spiritually.

Students like Tamekia Strickland ’08 experience this every day. Strickland, a business major with a double minor in marketing and psychology, is the recipient of various scholarships. She serves as multicultural chair for the Student Association and president of the Multicultural Club; she has also been involved in the Psychology Club, the Organization of African American Unity, and the residence hall council.

“My years at Trinity have been exciting and rewarding,” she said. “Through campus involvement in clubs, students can also experience what Chicago has to offer—museums, plays, concerts, humanities festivals, and sporting events.

“Trinity offers many different avenues for students to learn and grow. The only decision the student has to make is to accept the challenge.”

Strickland said faculty members have challenged her academically to be the best that she can be. Her Trinity experience has profoundly affected her spiritually, as well.

“At Trinity you are able to grow stronger in your faith and beliefs,” she explained. “It is good to be in a place where you can express how you truly feel about God.”

Providing an environment for academic, social, and spiritual growth through the building and enhancement of facilities contributes to the education of the whole person.
